Job Summary

The Plant Quality Head is responsible for leading, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System across the concrete plant to ensure consistent production of high‚Äëquality concrete in compliance with statutory, customer, and project requirements. The role involves strategic oversight, team leadership, process improvement, and direct coordination with operations, customers, and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy & Leadership

• Define and implement plant-level quality objectives, policies, and KPIs
• Lead the Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams
• Promote a strong quality culture across plant operations
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and client specifications

2. Quality Control & Assurance

• Oversee testing of raw materials, fresh concrete, and hardened concrete
• Ensure compliance with IS / ASTM / BS / EN standards
• Approve concrete mix designs and mix trials
• Monitor variability in concrete strength and workability trends
• Investigate non‚Äëconformities and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)

3. Process & Systems Management

• Implement and maintain QMS, ISO 9001, EMS, OHS compliance (if applicable)
• Develop SOPs for plant, laboratory, and site quality activities
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of all testing equipment
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean where applicable)

4. Customer & Project Interface

• Act as the primary quality interface with customers, consultants, and auditors
• Handle technical complaints and root‚Äëcause analysis
• Support major pours, trials, and high‚Äërisk concreting works
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and customers

5. Audits & Compliance

• Prepare and represent the plant during:
  • Internal audits
  • Client audits
  • Third‚Äëparty certification audits
• Ensure statutory compliance with applicable building codes and standards
• Maintain quality records, reports, and traceability documentation

6. Team Management & Development

• Recruit, train, and mentor QC Engineers and Lab Technicians
• Assess team performance and conduct competency evaluations
• Conduct technical training on standards, testing, and best practices

7. Reporting & Analysis

• Review and analyze quality data, trends, and test results
• Submit monthly quality performance reports to management
• Drive reduction in rework, customer complaints, and material wastage

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• In‚Äëdepth knowledge of:
  • IS 456, IS 10262, IS 516
  • ASTM / EN standards (preferred)
• Expertise in:
  • Concrete mix design & optimization
  • Quality audits and compliance systems
  • Statistical quality control and trend analysis
• Strong understanding of batching plant operations
