Shift Chemist

Job Summary

The Shift Chemist is responsible for carrying out chemical analysis and quality control testing of raw materials, clinker, cement, gypsum, and other process materials. The role ensures compliance with quality standards, supports production by providing timely test results, and maintains laboratory equipment and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical and chemical testing of raw materials, clinker, cement, gypsum, coal, and other samples as per standard operating procedures.
• Monitor product quality during the shift and ensure compliance with BIS and plant quality standards.
• Conduct routine laboratory analysis using laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
• Record, analyze, and maintain test results accurately in laboratory logs and systems.
• Coordinate with Production and Process departments regarding quality deviations and corrective actions.
• Ensure calibration, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of laboratory instruments.
• Prepare chemical reagents and standard solutions as per laboratory procedures.
• Monitor process parameters and provide timely feedback to production teams.
• Follow SOPs, quality systems, and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies during laboratory operations.
